Dear Faithful,
As announced in our earlier press release dated March 12th, 2020, the Armenian Prelacy of Canada continues to follow the developments of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) with detail. At this time, following intense deliberations by our Religious Council, the following resolutions have been adopted which shall be implemented starting this Sunday, March 15th, 2020.
1) Armenian Prelacy of Canada churches will conduct all services (Sunrise, Evening, Peace/Rest as well as Sunday Divine Liturgy) with CLOSED DOORS. This said, the local Parish Priest alongside a limited number of Deacons and Acolytes will only be allowed to be present to celebrate these services. However, these services will all be LIVESTREAMED on each respective church’s Facebook page.
- At the end of each Sunday Divine Liturgy, Requiem Service will also be held, again with CLOSED DOORS. Families who wish to hold requiem services must call their local Church in advance, and then again, follow the Requiem Service via LIVESTREAM.
- As Holy Week approaches including Palm Sunday and the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ (Easter), we will provide an updated Press Release accordingly.
- Our clergy across Canada will continue to serve their parish with direct visits and prayers to those who make specific requests. To make these requests, it is asked to call your local church.
These resolutions have been made to help mitigating COVID-19 as a whole. Let us take part in the fight to deter this virus, keeping our children and everyone safe and healthy.
