The Catholicosate of Cilicia, in partnership with the Government of Artsakh, planned and sponsored a construction project to rebuild and revitalize the border village of Nor Ghazanchi (to be renamed NOR GILIGIA) located in the Martakert District, north of Stepanakert.
The Armenian Prelacy of Canada pledged to contribute $150,000. The goal of this project is to improve the quality of life enough to give hope for a brighter future, which will result in keeping the inhabitants on the land and attract new families to the area.
The project consists of constructing 60 houses, roads, schools, a medical clinic, church, cultural centre and other infrastructure improvements. Along with the construction, this project will provide agricultural and industrial opportunities, which will strengthen the economic outlook of the village.
Below is the opening clip from the ceremony took place on May 11th in Nor Giligia Village:
Thank you to all of our donors for making Nor Giligia a model village and helping the villagers remain on the land.
