Ազգային Երեսփոխանական 58/15րդ Ժողովը
Աւարտեց իր Աշխատանքները
Գանատայի Հայոց Թեմի Ազգային Երեսփոխանական Ժողովը տեղի ունեցաւ Լաւալի մէջ, 13-14 Մայիս 2016-ի շաբաթավերջին, հիւրընկալութեամբ Ս. Գէորգ Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցւոյ Հոգեւոր Հովիւին եւ Հոգաբարձութեան:
Ժողովին իրենց մասնակցութիւնը բերին Գանատայի տարածքին գործող Հոգեւորականները, եկեղեցիներու Ազգային Երեսփոխանները, Ազգային Պատգամաւորները, Հոգաբարձական կազմերը եւ գործակից կազմակերպու-թեանց ներկայացուցիչներն ու Կիլիկեան Սուրբ Աթոռի եւ Առաջնորդարանի շքանշանակիրներն ու հիւրերը։ Ժողովին ներկայ էր նաեւ Թեմիս Անդրանիկ Առաջնորդ՝ Գերշ. Տ. Խաժակ Սրբ. Արք. Յակոբեան։
Ազգային Երեսփոխանական Ժողովի պաշտօնական բացումը կատարուեցաւ Թեմիս Հայրապետական Ներկայացուցիչ Գերշ. Տ. Սուրէն Ս. Արք. Գաթարոյեանի աղօթքով, որմէ ետք յաջորդաբար բարի գալուստի եւ ողջոյնի խօսքեր փոխանցեցին հիւրընկալ եկեղեցւոյ Հոգեւոր Հովիւը եւ Ազգային Վարչութեան ատենապետը։ Դիւանի ատենապետ ընտրուեցաւ պրն. Յարութիւն Շիթիլեան իսկ քարտուղար՝ Տ. Հրանդ Վրդ. Թահանեան:
Ժողովի աւարտին տեղի ունեցան Ազգային Վարչութեան, Ազգային Պատգամաւորներու եւ Առաջնորդի ընտրութիւնները:

Canadian Armenian National Assembly Representative
Meeting Concluded
The Canadian Armenian National Assembly Representative (CANAR) meeting including clergy and lay delegates representing parishes of the Prelacy of Canada began deliberating Friday, May 13, 2016 around noon. Hosting the Assembly was St. Kevork Armenian Church of Laval and the meetings took place at the local Armenian Community Centre.
The Assembly officially opened with a prayer by His Eminence Archbishop Souren Kataroyan, Catholicosal Representative in Canada. The first session included reports from the credential committee, election of nominating committee, election of the Assembly’s chair and secretary, and welcoming remarks by Rev. Fr. Kapriel Kamayan, pastor of the host parish and Mr. Krikor Der Ghazarian, chairperson of the Prelacy Executive Council. A special message to the CANAR from His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia was read by Very rev. Fr. Keghart Kosbakian.
Meeting attendants included CANAR delegates, Armenian Prelacy of Canada Executive and Religious Council members, as well as members from Prelacy Church Boards, “Cilicia Princes and Knights,” recipients of Mesrob Mashdots medals, community benefactors, as well as representatives of sister organizations from across Canada, including, Montreal, Laval, Toronto, Ste Catharines, Cambridge and Vancouver.
The CANAR is the highest ecclesiastical and administrative body of the Prelacy. It is composed of a ratio of one-seventh clergy and six-sevenths lay delegates. The clergy delegates are elected by the Clergy Conference and the lay delegates by the membership of their respective parishes.
In addition to discussions of questions of faith, the Assembly is empowered to address issues of interest, be it on the financial, organizational or cultural levels as well as policies that encourage the integration of our communities in this great Canadian family while respecting our cultural and religious roots and principles.
The Canadian Armenian National Assembly Representatives (CANAR) issued a letter to His Holiness Aram I, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, and Quebec’s Premiere Philippe Couillard.
As it is customary, elections were held at the end of the meeting, and the members for the 2016-2017 Religious Councils of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada are: Very Rev. Fr. Vartan Tashjian (chairperson), Rev. Fr. Kapriel Kamayan (secretary) and Archpriest Karnig Koyounian.
Executive Council Members are: Krikor Der Ghazarian (chairperson), Hagop Boulgarian (secretary), Vartavar Panossian (treasurer), Harout Kassabian (vice-chairperson), Levon Bengian, Osig Mksyartinian, Mike Titizian, Zovig Terzian and Juliette Sarkissian
Special elections of World Assembly Delegates were held for 2016-2020 term. The delegates are: Mrs. Anna Boulgarian, Mr. Harout Kassabian, Mr. Krikor Der Ghazarian, Mr. Hagop Der Khatchadourian, Mr. Raffi Donabedian, Dr. Vagharch Ehramdjian, Mr. Apkar Mirakian, Mrs. Osig Mksyartinian, Mrs. Ani Ohanian and Mr. Garo Postajian. Vice-members are Vahe Hagopian and Arto Kabassakalian.
The Assembly elected His Eminence Archbishop Papken Tcharian as the new Prelate of Canada.
